Camarillo Boy Scouts earn Eagle rank
TOP SCOUTS- Camarillo residents Curtis Chavez, Paul Westover and Robert Hanson, all 18, were awarded their Eagle rank during a March 28 ceremony at the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day-Saints in Camarillo, where all three young men are congregants. The Eagle rank in the Boy Scouts of America, and those who obtain the rank must first earn 21 merit badges and complete an Eagle leadership service project. Chavez, a graduate of Adolfo Camarillo High School, is now studying to be a firefighter at Oxnard College. Westover, who will graduate this June from Newbury Park High School, plans to attend Brigham Young University in Utah. Hanson, a graduate of Rio Mesa High School, now attends Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is majoring in Electrical Engineering.
