University to host symposium on aging

The Biology Program at California State University Channel Islands presents "Coming of Aging in America," a symposium addressing societal and scientific issues related to the aging of the population in the coming decades, from 1 to 5:30 p.m. today, Fri., April 4, in the Aliso Hall Auditorium on the CSUCI campus.

The symposium will feature guest speakers Lynn Daucher, director of the California Department of Aging; Gilbert Rishton, PhD, director of the Channel Islands Alzheimer's Institute; Rita Effros, PhD, of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UCLA; Stephen Clarke, PhD, of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UCLA; and Anne Stirling Hastings, PhD, a local psychologist.

Limited parking is available on campus and is $6 for a daily permit.
