Free improvisational comedy, theater workshops for teens

Straight Up Ventura County will hold free teen improv workshops. The first eightweek session will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. beginning Wed., April 9 at the teen center in the Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo at 1500 Temple St.

The classes are free and will include basic improv theater and comedy, reality improv and social change theater. Students will have the opportunity to perform in a video production and a stage performance.

Instructors Jim and Katherine Kasmir have been teaching theater and improv classes for 15 years.

The class is open to teens ages 13 to 18. Space is limited.
