Contractor scholarship offered

The Ray Prueter Scholarship, which was created by the Ventura County Contractors Association's Construction Education Fund, is accepting applications.

Candidates must be pursuing a career in construction, which includes architecture, engineering, surveying, construction management and the building trades.

Applicants must be or have been enrolled in a Tri-County area high school, college or accredited construction-related trade school or apprentice training program in 2008.

Applications are due by Fri., April 25 and are available online at www.vccainc.com or at the VCCA office at 1830 Lockwood Street, Ste. 110 in Oxnard.

Scholarship winners will be announced at an awards dinner in May.
