      Vandals caused about $50 in damage to the Boys & Girls Club, 1500 Temple Ave., sometime between March 10 and 11. A juvenile at a children's shelter in the 1700 block of S. Lewis Road was arrested March 11 on battery and vandalism charges.

Shoe store robbed
      An armed gunman robbed Payless Shoes, 309 W Ventura Blvd., around 8:30 p.m. on Tues., March 18, according police. No one was injured. The suspect, described as a 6foot to 6-foot-2-inch black male in his 20s, removed a handgun from his pocket and demanded money from the store clerk.
