Hospice schedules volunteer training Camarillo Hospice invites interested community members to enroll in its volunteer training and community education program scheduled to begin March 19. The program runs for nine consecutive weeks, meeting Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hospice office, 400 Rosewood Ave., Ste. 102, in Camarillo. The full course is required training for Camarillo Hospice patient-care volunteers, but the class is open to everyone. Topics include the impact of a lifethreatening illness on the patient and family, spiritual matters, medical aspects of the hospice patient, caring for the caregiver, listening skills, loss and bereavement, and the dying process. Space is limited, and registration is necessary. The Camarillo Hospice is a communitybased volunteer hospice which offers practical and emotional assistance to individuals, families and caregivers dealing with a chronic or lifethreatening illness as well as bereavement support to those in grief.
