Interactive exhibit to debut at SCIART Studio Channel Islands Art Center will present "Reaching Out: an exhibition of student and faculty art from Moorpark College" and "Medusae (the jellies)" from Sat., March 15 to April 26 at the center on the campus of California State University Channel Islands. The opening reception will be from 4 to 6 p.m. March 15. "Reaching Out" is an inaugural program featuring works by students and faculty from the art departments of community colleges. The exhibit will be in the Evans and O'Keefe galleries at the center. Moorpark College is the first to participate in the program, part of SCIART's 10th anniversary celebration. "Medusae (the jellies)" is an interactive sculptural installation by Gerri Johnson-McMillin in the Gerd Koch Gallery. JohnsonMcMillin is an awardwinning fiber artist and an artist-in-residence at SCIART. Gallery hours are noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday or by appointment.
