'Infamous' poor word to describe Enola Gay

Regarding the March 7 article "Camarillo Navy pilot shares daring war adventures piloting seaplane," the use of the word "infamous" to describe the Enola Gay is, at best, inappropriate.

That aircraft may be infamous in Japan, but certainly not in the U.S., and even more certainly not to those American servicemen who were preparing to invade Japan prior to the dropping of the atomic bomb. Ron Lutey Camarillo
