Art association plans studio tour

The Ventura Studio Artists Association will present "Venture Ventura," a juried Studio Artist's Tour in June. Artists wishing to participate must submit an application no later than Sat., March 22.

The purpose of this year's event is to continue the momentum established by the Focus on the Masters Studio Tour during the past four years, to display the talent of Ventura's resident artists and to raise money for Art City with part of the proceeds.

Participating artists must maintain a professional artist studio within the Ventura city limits and have facilities which will enable visitors to see and purchase art in a pleasant environment.

Artists will be selected by a jury panel. Selection of participating artists will be based on review of selected works and of the studio itself.

Materials must be submitted as digital images on CD, including five pieces of art and three images of the studio itself showing how it would be presented on the tour.

Image format should be 800 pixels by 600 pixels at 300 DPI. Also include a recent artist's resume.

Materials should be submitted in a stamped selfaddressed envelope if return by mail is requested.

Materials are to be submitted with application and fees payable to Venture Ventura Studio Artists Tour by Sat., March 22.

Application fee is $20 and Studio Artist Tour fee is $50. Each fee should be paid with a separate check, both due with submission for materials. Artists who are not chosen will have the Studio Artist fee check returned with submitted materials. All fees will be used for promoting the event and other logistical expenses.
