Keeping an eye on the big race

PRETTY IN PINK- Camarillo resident Jordan Farrell, 15, dressed up in bright pink glasses and a bandana, camped out on Balcom Canyon Road between Camarillo and Moorpark with her family and hundreds of other cycling fans to wait for Amgen's 2008 Tour of California to roll through on Sat., Feb. 23. The eight-day bicycle race through 650 miles of California highways, roadways and coastline drives ended at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Feb. 24. Levi Leipheimer, a U.S. rider, was crowned champion of the race for the second consecutive year. Leipheimer posted a weeklong total time of 29 hours, 24 minutes and 32 seconds in the race that began in Northern California on Feb. 17.
