World affairs council hires Paladin

The World Affairs Council of America-California Central Coast has hired Paladin Principle LLC to oversee the council's public affairs, media outreach, board development and event coordination.

Paladin Principle LLC is a regional public affairs firm headquartered on the 18th floor of the Morgan Stanley building in Oxnard.

The firm specializes in helping clients develop positive media relations, public affairs, plan development and local government advocacy.

The mission of World Affairs Councils of America is to empower citizens to participate in the national debate of world affairs, build citizen support for American engagement in the world and stimulate communities to interact effectively in the global community.

Website debuts

Social Good Marketing and Design Inc. announced recently the launch of the Social Good Business Network, an online directory of socially conscious businesses in Ventura County.

Basic listings on the site are free, but organizations must show and certify, via a short application process, that they are socially conscious.

Still in the testing stages, the site's directory has already approved applications from Patagonia, Dennis Allen Associates, Women's Economic Ventures and others.

Tea Silvestre, CEO of Social Good Marketing and Design Inc., said she launched the website as a way to promote and honor local enterprises who conduct business according to standards that "reach beyond contemporary practices in addressing the needs of consumers, employees, the community and the environment."

Joe Ravens has been named district manager for the Conejo Valley district in Wells Fargo's Pacific Coast Community Bank.

Ravens will oversee nearly 200 team members at nine Wells Fargo bank branches in Newbury Park, Moorpark, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village, as well as a new branch in Oak Park at 604 Lindero Canyon Road.

Ravens began his banking career with Wells Fargo as a teller in 1998. He has held many positions within the company, including personal banker, service manager and store manager. Most recently he served as director of the regional bank private banker program, coaching private banking managers to help develop their skills.

Wells Fargo and Company is a financial service company that provides banking, insurance, investments, mortgage and consumer finance through almost 6,000 stores and the Internet across North America and internationally.

Library hours

The Friends of the Camarillo Library Bookstore will expand its hours from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursdays beginning March 6.

The other Monday through Saturday hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., remain the same.
