Resume building included in free workshops
Career center announces list of March events

The West Oxnard Job and Career Center will host several career workshops in March.

All workshops are free of charge and will take place at the center, 635 S. Ventura Road in Oxnard. For more information on any class, call (805) 382-6551.

•Explore Your Future, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mon., March 3. Participants will identify their skills and aspirations and develop a career strategy.

•Microsoft Word for Resumes, 1 to 5 p.m. Thurs., March 6. Students will learn to format documents, work with templates and create professional documents in Word.

•Computer Basics, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mon., March 10. The class covers Windows desktop programs.

•Resumes That Sell, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tues. and Wed., March 11 and 12. The twoday workshop will provide hands-on assistance in completing a portfolio including a resume, cover letter and thank-you letters.

•Winning Interviews, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thurs., March 13. Students will learn how to make a lasting first impression.

•Online Job Search Strategies, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tues., March 18. Participants will learn how to find and properly respond to job leads on the Internet.

•Power of VOS, 8:30 a.m. to noon Wed., March 19. Students will learn how to use Virtual OneStop.

•Microsoft Word for Resumes, 1 to 5 p.m. Thurs., March 27.
