Police arrest pair of suspected car burglars Two 18yearold Oxnard residents were arrested Feb. 11 on charges of car burglary and possession of burglary tools. A Camarillo resident called the police after noticing two people looking into cars with flashlights around 1 a.m. near Paseo Montelena and Creekside Road. The resident also gave a description of a car the people were using. Camarillo deputies responded to the call, and Dep. Juan Cordova stopped a car that matched the description given to them. The men in the car, Rogelio Reyes and Roberto Nucico, reportedly were both on probation. Deputies searched the car and found burglary tools and a car stereo in the back seat, according to a police report, which goes on to state that a truck on Creekside Road had been discovered with a broken window and a missing stereo/navigation monitor. According to Camarillo detectives, Reyes and Nucico were also in possession of a stolen credit card, taken along with a purse from a vehicle in the 300 block of Otono Court in Camarillo. Reyes and Nucico were booked and charged at the Main Jail. The Camarillo police urge county residents not to leave expensive items in their cars. |
