In honor of fallen children

IN MEMORY- Newbury Park resident Terry Ince, above at left, and Thousand Oaks resident Pat Bobrowski comfort one another as they pay tribute to their children before a Balloon Release Ceremony Sat., Feb. 9 at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home and Memorial Park. The ceremony, hosted by the Ventura County Chapter of the Compassionate Friends in partnership with the Camarillo funeral home, allowed family and friends to write notes to children who have died, attach them to balloons and release the balloons in their memory. Nearly 700 balloons were released in unison, right, during the afternoon ceremony that included a concert by award-winning musician Alan Pederson, whose daughter was killed in a car accident at age 18.
