YMCA kicks off fundraiser
Campaign raises money for child care, summer camps

The Camarillo Family YMCA is kicking off its annual fundraiser, the 2008 Campaign for Youth.

The campaign takes place throughout February, though the money collected will last the entire year. The funds raised will provide financial assistance for YMCA child care and summer camps.

The Camarillo Family YMCA hopes to raise at least $75,000 this year.

"A successful annual campaign ensures that we are able to provide support and financial assistance to families who need it," said Trish Johnson, executive director at the Camarillo Family YMCA.

YMCA programs help develop positive values and build self-esteem as well as help prevent substance abuse, crime and delinquency.
