Sheriff's Blotter A 43-year-old woman was arrested Jan. 17 in the 3100 block of Channel Drive for allegedly trying to pass a forged prescription for muscle relaxants at the Target store pharmacy, 209 W. Ventura Blvd., earlier that day. On Jan. 18, a student of Phoenix School, 500 Airport Way, was arrested and charged with intentionally damaging a computer. A cellphone was stolen in the 700 block of E. Ventura Boulevard on Jan. 18. Burglars broke into a home in the 1000 block of Mobil Avenue on Jan. 18 sometime between 8:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. and stole approximately $19,000 in jewelry and various electronics, as well as personal financial documents. An 18-year-old male was arrested Jan. 18 in the 100 block of Alosta Drive after police allegedly found him sitting in a vehicle that had reportedly been involved in a number of hit-and-run accidents. Police said the man was under the influence of alcohol at the time of his arrest. A vandal broke the window of Valle Lindo Elementary School, 777 Aileen St., sometime between Jan. 18 and 19. A thief stole the catalytic converter off a truck parked in the 700 block of Mobil Avenue sometime between Jan. 18 and 19. Thieves broke into three classrooms at Las Colinas Middle School, 5750 Fieldcrest Drive, and stole an undisclosed amount of property sometime between Jan. 18 and 19. Thieves stole an undisclosed amount of personal property from an unlocked car parked in the 2500 block of Truman Street sometime between Jan. 18 and 19. Vandals set fire to two uninhabited structures at the Navy housing complex in the 30 block of Calle El Halcon sometime between Jan. 18 and 21. A 27-year-old man was arrested Jan. 19 for allegedly stealing less than $400 in merchandise from the Target store, 209 W. Ventura Blvd. Someone stole about $500 in property from a home in the 600 block of W. La Loma Avenue sometime between Jan. 19 and 20. Thieves broke into a barn in the 20 block of Estaban Drive and stole items from a 1930 Ford Model A car kept in the locked building sometime between Jan. 19 and 22. The thieves reportedly tried to steal the car's original radiator but were unsuccessful. A pair of shoplifters stole two sunglasses, worth a total of $400, from the Sunglass Hut store, 740 Ventura Blvd., on Jan. 20. A thief stole an undisclosed amount of personal property from an unlocked bathroom locker at the 24-Hour Fitness gym, 415 Carmen Drive, on Jan. 21. Vandals caused $800 in damage by scratching the paint of a car parked in the 2000 block of Via Arandana sometime between Jan. 21 and 22. Vandals smashed the window of a car parked in the 100 block of Bramble Court sometime between Jan. 21 and 22. About $300 in personal property was stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 1900 block of Tiffany Court sometime between Jan. 21 and 22. A car parked in the 1300 block of North Lucero Street was burglarized sometime between Jan. 21 and 22. The thieves made off with more than $9,700 in property, including the victim's purse, tools and electronic equipment. A car parked in the 1600 block of E. Lyndhurst Avenue was burglarized sometime between Jan. 21 and 22. More than $3,100 in property was stolen. Three men, ages 20, 21 and 22, were arrested Jan. 21 after they allegedly tried to move into a home in the 10 block of Camino La Madera in the uninhabited Navy housing complex. The men reportedly brought food, bedding and electronic items into the empty home. Vandals broke into the coinoperated washing machines of the Capistrano Apartment complex, 182 Ripley St., on Jan. 22. The thieves caused $200 in damages. A 22-year-old man was arrested Jan. 23 near the intersection of Santa Rosa Road and Woodcreek and charged with carrying a concealed and loaded firearm in his vehicle. A teenage student was arrested Jan. 24 on a charge of threatening a police officer at Gateway High School, 200 Horizon Circle. A car parked in the 2100 block of Wilcox Street was burglarized sometime between Jan. 24 and 25. The thieves stole about $700 in property. An undisclosed amount of property was stolen from a locked car in the 1300 block of Sweetwater Avenue sometime between Jan. 24 and 25. An undisclosed amount of property was stolen from a locked car parked in the 2400 block of Balmoral Court sometime between Jan. 24 and 25. Two teenagers, both 19, were arrested Jan. 25 in the 5300 block of North Street on multiple felony charges following a fight in Somis between two alleged tagging crews after an altercation between a group of teenagers at the Roy Stadium 11 Movie Theater, 5001 Verdugo Way, earlier that night. Burglars broke into a home in the 1300 block of Saturn Street on Jan. 25 sometime between 9:15 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. and stole about $300 in cash and a $1,000 laptop computer. A car parked in the 900 block of Wolff Road was burglarized Jan. 25. Vandals caused more than $1,100 in damage to a car parked in the 600 block of Ventura Boulevard on Jan. 25. A 40-year-old woman was arrested Jan. 26 in the 3700 block of Las Posas Road on spousal battery charges. Two men, ages 32 and 31, were arrested Jan. 26 for allegedly trying to steal about $100 worth of electronics from the Target store, 209 W. Ventura Blvd. A 39-year-old man was arrested Jan. 26 in the 200 block of Mariposa Drive on charges of spousal abuse. A 44-year-old woman was arrested Jan. 27 on petty theft charges in the 900 block of Arneill Road. Thieves stole more than $400 in property from an unlocked car parked in the 600 block of North Las Posas Road on Jan. 27. Between Jan. 18 and Jan. 27, police reported arresting 20 people on suspicion of driving without a license or driving with a suspended license. During that same time period, four people were arrested and charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance; seven people were arrested on various drug charges, and one was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public. |
