MAKING THE GRADE- Dos Caminos Elementary School student Elizabeth Surwin, 10, reacts after spelling the final word correctly to win the school's spelling bee late last week. Surwin competed against 15 of her classmates in the third, fourth and fifth grades during the annual competition. Surwin will go on to compete at the district-level spelling bee on Feb. 13. Tommy Velasquez, 9, took second and will attend the upcoming competition as an alternate.
