St. Mary Magdalen students get inventive

INVENTORS- St. Mary Magdalen School students will be on hand Sunday at the school on Ventura Boulevard to showcase the inventions they made for the Invention Convention, an international contest held to promote creative thinking skills to create a product or process that would fill a need or overcome a problem.
An open house showcasing student projects at St. Mary Magdalen School's Invention Convention will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Sun., Jan. 27 at the school, 2534 E. Ventura Blvd.

The Invention Convention is an international contest held annually by Houghton Mifflin Company, publisher of Houghton Mifflin Science DiscoveryWorks, a national science program for students in grades two through eight.

For the convention, students used problemsolving and creative thinking skills to invent a product or process that would fill a need or overcome a problem.
