Landscapes n' lattes

The Sierra Crest Photography Exhibit will run Feb. 27 through March 28, with an opening reception 1 to 4 p.m. Sun., Feb. 17 at the Proverbs CoffeeHouse at Peace Lutheran Church, 71 Loma Drive in Camarillo.

The exhibit is a collection of landscape photography on canvas by Ventury County residents Mark and Holly Jansen of Sierra Crest Photography.

Exhibition hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

'Peanuts' to play theatre

Camarillo Community Theatre presents "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," opening 8 p.m. Fri., Feb. 8 at the theater, 330 Skyway Drive, inside the Camarillo Airport.

The musical, directed by David Newcomer and produced by Janis Johnson, highlights the adventures of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy, Schroeder and Sally of the "Peanuts" cartoon by Charles Schulz.

The show runs through Sun., March 16. Performances are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays.

Tickets cost $17 for adults, $13 for students, seniors and military, and $8 for children ages 12 and under.

Opening night tickets are two for the price of one. Friday night tickets are two-for-one for all students with valid school I.D.

At 'Face Value'

Janet Black's "Face Value: Expressions in Collage" art exhibit has been extended through Sat., Feb. 2.

The exhibit can be seen noon to 5 p.m. daily at the Harbor Village Gallery, 1591 Spinnaker Drive, Ste. 117C, in Ventura. The gallery is closed Tuesdays.

Black's collages take on the quality of paintings by combining and layering paper. Her subjects include people and animal faces.

Also included in the exhibit are eight graphite drawings by Black for a collection of poetry by Elizabeth Cunningham.

Black received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin. She and her family moved to California in 1985. She has continued studying with local artists such as Carlisle Cooper and Hiroko Yoshimoto. Black has also taught collage workshops at the Ojai Valley Inn's Artist Cottage program.

Camarillo Ranch Gift Shop is holding a clearance sale this weekend with items marked down as low as 50 percent.

Sale hours are from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. tomorrow, Sat., Jan. 26 and from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sun., Jan. 27.
