Celebrate Chinese New Year
Festivities to include children's crafts, lion dance

The Ventura County Chinese American Association will sponsor a Chinese New Year Festival from 2 to 4 p.m. Sat., Feb. 2 at Constitution Park City Hall at 1287 Paseo, Camarillo.

Entertainment features Chinese classical dancing by the VCCAA Dance Troupe, lion dancing by the Camarillo Kung Fu Club, a Chinese New Year play by students of the VCCAA Chinese School, a Chinese classical instrument ensemble and Chinese New Year songs.

Other activities include calligraphy and brush painting demonstrations, and children's craft booths for making Chinese masks, lanterns, origami and cutting paper designs.

Souvenir booths will sell Chinese items.

The event is free to the public.
