Ceremony for families who have lost children

Conejo Mountain Funeral Home, Memorial Park and Crematory, in conjunction with the Ventura County Chapter of the Compassionate Friends, will host a balloon ceremony for families who have lost children.

The ceremony will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sat., Feb. 9 at the funeral home, 2052 Howard Road in Camarillo.

Award-winning musician Alan Pederson, whose daughter was killed in an car accident at age 18, will perform at the event.

Participants may write messages to their loved ones on cards which will be fastened to balloons. The balloons will be released in unison following the concert. Call (805) 981-1573 for information.
