Sheriff's Blotter Camarillo Vandals caused about $20 in damage to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2304 Antonio Ave., sometime between Dec. 1 and Jan. 1. Someone broke into a locked storage container kept at Evolving Resources Inc., 19 N. Aviador St., and stole $700 in property sometime between Dec. 18 and Jan. 2. Vandals caused less than $400 in damage to the inside of a school bus parked at Somis School, 5268 North St., on Dec. 28. Thieves broke into the locked storage unit in the 700 block of Paseo Camarillo sometime between Dec. 28 and 31. Thieves hotwired a forklift and used it to ram the barn doors of the Open Air Produce stand, 4524 E. Pleasant Valley Road, sometime between Dec. 30 and 31. An undisclosed amount of property was stolen. Vandals scratched the paint of a car parked in the 600 block of N. Las Posas Road on Dec. 31. A 37-year-old man was arrested Dec. 31 on charges of grand theft by embezzlement from his employer, Sterling Hills Country Club, 901 Sterling Hills Drive. A thief stole a garage door opener and CDs from an unlocked car parked in the 4900 block of Ladera Vista Drive sometime between Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Vandals slashed the tires of a car parked in the 3100 block of Corby Avenue sometime between Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Someone stole a water pump system from Rio Farms, 684 Cawelti Road, sometime between Dec. 31 and Jan. 2. A 24-year-old man was arrested Jan. 1 on charges of battery and false imprisonment by violence in the 700 block of Walker Avenue. Someone stole a satellite radio unit valued at $150 from an unlocked car parked in the 500 block of Rosewood Avenue on Jan. 1. An 18-year-old male was arrested Jan. 2 near the intersection of Flynn and Adolfo roads for allegedly contributing to the delinquency of two 15-year-old girls who were with him and out after curfew and allegedly intoxicated on alcohol and marijuana. A 21-year-old woman was arrested Jan. 2 near the intersection of Las Posas Road and Pleasant Valley Road for an outstanding warrant stemming from an earlier arrest. A shoplifter stole $600 in merchandise from the Game Stop, 243 Ventura Blvd., on Jan. 2. Someone stole $100 in cash from an unlocked home in the 1700 block of Old Ranch Road on Jan. 2. Two 16-year-olds are suspected of setting fire to several dry tree branches near the intersection of West Street and Somis Road on Jan. 2. The fire could have spread, according to police reports, had a witness not put it out. A thief stole an iPod from the basketball court area at 24 Hour Fitness Center, 415 Carmen Drive, on Jan. 2. Someone stole drain covers from Technological Aquatics, 1011 Avenida Avaso, sometime between Jan. 2 and 3. A thief tried to steal the rear license plate from a car parked in the 2300 block of San Ysidro Avenue on Jan. 3. The suspect ran away when the car's alarm sounded. An 18-year-old male was arrested Jan. 3 at St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital, 2309 Antonio Avenue, on charges of criminal threats, battery on a nurse and resisting arrest. A 20-year-old female was arrested Jan. 4 for allegedly attempting to shoplift DVDs from the Target store, 209 W. Ventura Blvd. A home in the 500 block of Bandera Drive was burglarized Jan. 4 sometime between 6:45 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. About $300 in jewelry was stolen. A thief broke into a storage unit kept at a carport in the 900 block of Paseo Camarillo sometime between Jan. 4 and 5. An undisclosed amount of property was stolen. Vandals caused about $200 in damage to a property in the 500 block of Corte Aguacate sometime between Jan. 4 and 7. A 22-year-old man was arrested Jan. 5 in the 300 block of W. Ventura Boulevard on a charge of reckless driving. A car parked in the 200 block of Nellora Street was burglarized sometime between Jan. 5 and 6. The thief stole speakers from the car. Three bottles of wine valued at more than $6,500 were stolen from a home in the 1700 block of San Vito Lane sometime between Jan. 5 and 6. An employee of the wineselling business is suspected in the theft. A car parked in the 700 block of Mobil Avenue was burglarized sometime between Jan. 5 and 6. The thief stole $700 in cash and two birth certificates from the vehicle's center console. A truck parked in the 400 block of Calle San Pablo was burglarized Jan. 6. An undisclosed amount of property was stolen. An 18-year-old male was arrested Jan. 7 for allegedly driving over strawberry plants at Boskovich Farms, 2000 Pancho Road. Between Jan. 1 and Jan. 7, police reported arresting nine people on suspicion of driving without a license or driving with a suspended license. During that same time period, four people were arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, three people were arrested on various drug charges and one was arrested for allegedly being drunk in public. |
