Braille Institute van to make stop in town

The Braille Institute's Mobile Solutions Van will be at AlmaVia of Camarillo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thurs., Jan. 24, 2500 Ponderosa Drive North.

People with impaired vision are invited to learn about new technologies and products available.

Information will be provided about the free programs and services that are provided by the Braille Institute. The day's events will also include magnification and lighting demonstrations and oneonone consultations with low vision professionals.

Adaptive products, such as talking watches, writing guides, largeprint calendars, and voiceoutput and screen enlarging software to help maximize vision, will be available for purchase. Applications will also be on hand for residents to check out library items such as audio books, reading material in Braille and descriptive videos.

The Braille Institute is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to eliminate blindness and severe sight loss as a barrier to the fulfillment of life.
