Red Cross offers disaster training
The American Red Cross of Ventura County is offering Disaster Action Team training 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sat., Jan. 26 and Sun., Jan. 27 at the ARC Enrichment Center at 210 Canada Street in Ojai.

The Disaster Action Team is a group of trained volunteers who assist the American Red Cross with disaster response.

The two-day training is free. Day one includes basic ARC orientation, detailed introduction to the disaster volunteer position, education on mass care and a DAT workshop. On day two, participants will learn about shelter operations and management and will participate in a shelter simulation.
