County Habitat for Humanity receives bequest

The estate of Margery H. Ferrier has donated $89,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County to help build affordable homes.

Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County has served the county since 1983. Before it received its first donation of land from Charles Henderson in 1993, the organization exclusively repaired homes for those with low income and for seniors. Approximately 500 homes have been repaired and rehabilitated in Ventura County.

Since 1993, Habitat has focused on the construction of homes. To date, 44 new houses have been built countywide in partnership with families in need.

Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County is a nonprofit, locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International.
