The 'Real' first place team
     PERFECT SEASON—The Real California FC Black girls' under-11 team took first place in the Coast Soccer League with a perfect record of 14-0. The team outscored their opponents 60 to 5. Scorpions start slow
Boys' soccer squad hopes to regain form in league play
      The Camarillo High boys' soccer team hopes the new year will bring new results. The Scorpions have yet to win a game and are 0-7-1. Although ACHS has struggled, players such as senior defender Gary Neumann remain optimistic that once Pacific View League play begins next month, the team can start to produce.

Senior softball team from Ventura County leaves Las Vegas with title in tow
     PROUD MOMENT—The Goldcoast 75's, a senior softball team with players from Ventura County, went undefeated at the Men's Winter World Championships in Las Vegas. The 75's defeated the Minnesota Legends 19-12 in the title game. Dick McLeish is the manager, and John Monteleone is an assistant. Team members include Ernie Acosta, Bill Swartz, Jim Tate, Gibby Weiss, Rich Wheeler, Don Allchin, Elvin Bartel, Ken Carroll, Jim DeFrates, Tom Dudley, Jim Goggia, Jack Paulson, Chuck Schmelter and Tracy Williams.
