Contest seeks young artists
$100 gift certificate is top prize
      The California Coastal Commission invites all students in kindergarten through grade 12 to enter the 2009 California Coastal Art and Poetry Contest. All entries must have a state coastal or marine theme. Winners will be selected in both art and poetry in each of four gradelevel categories: K-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12.

'Great Auction'
      The Boys & Girls Club of Ventura will hold its 41st annual Great Auction celebration at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 22, at the Ventura Beach Marriott, 2055 Harbor Blvd., Ventura. The theme for the evening is "All That Jazz." The event is presented by E.J. Harrison and Sons and co-chaired by Ellyn Dembowski and Linda Girtsman.
