Learning what it's like
     JANN HENDRY/Acorn Newspapers C_B_A—Santa Rosa Technology Magnet School fifth-grader Nicole Weems, 10, uses a mirror to write the alphabet in reverse during an abilities awareness session at the school on Oct. 29 in Camarillo. On Abilities Awareness Day, the children experienced the way things are for special education students. The youths were given the opportunity to use a wheelchair, crutches and glasses that simulate blindness. They also had their hearing blocked and experienced other disabilities.

Computer class at library
Course to help students with online research
      A computer class for students in grades kindergarten through 12 and their parents will be held from 3 to 4:15 p.m. Sun., Nov. 23 in the technology classroom at the Camarillo Library, 4101 Las Posas Road, Camarillo. The class will teach about the library's online resources to assist with homework and school research.
