For more than 40 years, the community of Camarillo has been discussing the possibility of forming one unified, locally controlled school district to provide seamless K-12 education for our students. When I became involved 10 years ago, I was against unification. Today I am the chair of Camarillo Unified, the citizens group that is advocating for unification. More ... Measure U proposes to carve out Camarillo High and a portion of Rio Mesa High from the current Oxnard Union High School District under the auspices of "unification," which in this case would result in a loss of funds across the board while simultaneously increasing overhead.
