Water rates may go up
      Local water rates may increase next year. Camrosa Water District has been informed that the Metropolitan Water District will impose a rate increase of nearly 14.3 percent in January 2009 and that Calleguas Municipal Water District will be adding to that increase, so that Camrosa purchases could cost as much as 17 percent.

Happy ending for Camarillo good Samaritan
      Jim Dziadulewicz could never have imagined the strange turn of events that began on a Saturday morning last month. Dziadulewicz, 47, was heading back to his Camarillo home to retrieve a table for his wife, who was selling home cleaning products at a trade show in Oxnard, when a dog came out of the bushes without warning.

      Those too old for trickortreating can spend Halloween with Camarillo Community Theatre's "Little Shop of Horrors," a love story starring a man-eating plant. It's not as scary as a haunted house, but it's funnier. "Shop" began as a 1960 lowbudget black-and-white movie written by Charles Griffith and directed by B-movie maestro Roger Corman.
