Burbank man found dead in Camarillo

A 64-year-old Burbank man was found shot to death in Camarillo last Friday, the Ventura County Sheriff's Department said.

Mike Grair's daughter found him about 5 p.m. Oct. 10 inside his sport utility vehicle behind the Camarillo commercial center he owned at 4542 Las Posas Road, police said. Grair apparently was conducting business in the area but failed to show up for an appointment.

When deputies arrived, Grair's vehicle was running and he was inside. It's unknown how long Grair was there or whether he was shot inside or outside of the vehicle, Capt. Ross Bonfiglio said.

Police have yet to find a weapon or make an arrest.

Grair is married, but police are not releasing the names of his family members.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are suspicious, Bonfiglio said, and investigators are treating it as a homicide. No witnesses have come forward and the department is asking anyone with information to call the Sheriff's Major Crime Unit at (805) 477-7000.
