Camarillo

It was reported Sept. 30 that a thief tried to break into a safe kept in the back of a business in the 900 block of Camarillo Center Drive on Sept. 27. The thief was unable to break into the safe but stole $200 from a purse left in the back office.

A washer, a dryer and a garden hose valued at more than $400 were stolen from the front of a home in the 1500 block of Anacapa Drive sometime between Sept. 29 and Oct. 1.

A business in the 200 block of Arneill Road was burglarized sometime between Sept. 29 and 30. About $415 was reported stolen.

An undisclosed amount of property was stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 900 block of Paseo Camarillo sometime between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.

A car parked in the 700 block of Paseo Camarillo was burglarized sometime between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. The victim reported $200 in damage and more than $1,200 worth of property stolen.

A car was stolen in the 700 block of Paseo Camarillo sometime between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.

The toolbox on a truck parked in the 60 block of Los Angeles Avenue in Somis was burglarized sometime between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.

A 19-year-old woman was arrested Oct. 1 for allegedly stealing merchandise from the Kmart store, 940 Arneill Road.

A thief stole about $370 in property from the bedroom of a residence in the 4800 block of Colony Drive.

A 24-year-old man was arrested Oct. 1 in the 2500 block of Las Posas Road on a charge of being in possession of a deadly weapon. The crime reportedly occurred in the 100 block of E. Loop Drive.

A 37-year-old woman was arrested Oct. 1 in the 100 block of E. Loop Drive and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

A car parked in the 4800 block of Calle Brisa was burglarized sometime between Oct. 1 and 2.

A vandal smashed the window of a truck parked in the 700 block of Valle Lindo Drive on Oct. 2.

A 19-year-old man was arrested Oct. 3 near Ventura Boulevard and Veterans Way and charged with having a switchblade knife and marijuana in his car when pulled over by police.

Vandals caused more than $400 in damage to a car parked in the 6200 block of La Cumbre Road sometime between Oct. 3 and 4.

Vandals broke windows and used spray paint to cause more than $400 in damage to property in the 4300 block of Santa Clara Avenue sometime between Oct. 3 and 4.

A car parked in the 600 block of Lantana Drive was burglarized sometime between Oct. 3 and 4. An undisclosed amount of property was stolen.

A 16-year-old male juvenile was arrested Oct. 4 in the 3500 block of Almendro Way on battery charges.

About $1,500 in property was stolen from the front porch of a home in the 6300 block of Ridgecrest Lane on Oct. 4.

Eddie Robert Mendoza, 20, was arrested Oct. 4 in connection with the 2007 stabbing of a Camarillo man in the 2500 block of Dumetz Street. Mendoza was living in Denver when he was arrested. He is being held on charges of attempted murder and participating in a street gang.

Attackers punched and kicked a 23-year-old man in the 300 block of N. Las Posas Road on Oct. 5 around 2:30 a.m. The victim suffered broken facial and cranial bones, including severe facial swelling.

Between Sept. 30 and Oct. 6, police reported arresting 17 people on suspicion of driving without a license or driving with a suspended license. During that same time period, eight people were arrested and charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and 13 people were arrested on various drug charges.
