Briefs Church dedicates friendship garden Members and friends of Camarillo United Methodist Church will dedicate the newly completed Friendship Garden at 4 p.m. Sat., Sept. 13 at the church, 291 Anacapa Drive, Camarillo. The event will include family games and a Jolly Jump. A churchwide picnic and bingo will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. The evening will conclude with a performance by the Ventura British Brass Band. The new quarter-acre garden and park features concert arches over a wooden cross, places to sit, grassy areas and walkways. The event is free and open to the public. Holistic healing day approaches The Camarillo Center for Spiritual Living will host a holistic healing day from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sat., Sept. 6 at the center, 340 Mobil Ave., Camarillo. The event will include modalities such as angel readings, body harmony, Breema bodywork, guided imagery, healing touch, hand massage, Johrei, massage, reflexology, synergistic breathing and yoga therapy. Vacation Bible School news Camarillo Church of Christ will present its annual Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sun. through Thurs., Aug. 17 to 21 at the church, 515 Lewis Road, Camarillo.The theme is "Power Lab: Discovering Jesus' Miraculous Power." The program is open to all children entering kindergarten through fifth grade. The program is free, but preregistration is required. Registration forms are available in the church office.
