New principal hired at RMHS
Gonzales has been an administrator for eight years
      Oxnard Union High School District trustees appointed Ray Gonzales on Monday to head Rio Mesa High School. Gonzales has been the school's assistant principal for five years.

County's community college district first in state to meet government requirements
      The Ventura County Community College District, including Moorpark, Oxnard and Ventura colleges, became the first of the state's 72 community college districts to be fully compliant with the established federal and state training requirements for emergency preparedness.

Library tours available
      Docent-led architectural tours of the recently opened John Spoor Broome Library at California State University Channel Islands are available at 10 and 11 a.m. Mondays and noon and 1 p.m. Fridays. The tours begin in the main lobby and traverse the 137,000square-foot facility, focusing on the architectural features of the building.
