Illness can't keep musician from stage
      Jordan Sweeney hasn't let the disease he was diagnosed with three years ago slow him down. Instead, the Camarillo man uses the ailment- ulcerative colitis- as inspiration for his music. Sweeney, 23, will release his second acoustic rock album, "Road to Recovery," in two weeks and will play a rare live performance at UCLA's Perloff Quad at 4 p.m.

      The Camarillo Premium Outlets will host a summer music series sponsored by Coca-Cola. All performances will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Sundays on the food court patio, 740 E. Ventura Blvd., Camarillo.

Strike up the band
Community concert series to begin
      The Camarillo Community Band will begin its 23rd concert season. Performances will be at 7 p.m. Thursdays, July 3 through July 31 in Constitution Park, 1287 Paseo Camarillo. The band, sponsored by Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District, plays a variety of music. Every week children in the audience will be given the opportunity to "conduct" the band.
