Greek festival serves up food, fun and a wedding
30th annual event starts tonight
      Spitting on the bride for good luck will not be allowed during the Greek wedding at the Ventura County Greek Festival in Camarillo. The 30th annual Greek Festival next to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church at 400 Skyway Drive will have a new wrinkle in its lineup: a traditional Greek Orthodox wedding will take place Sat., June 7 at 5 p.m.

Ayers remembered for artwork, humor
Camarillo painter was 78
      Many residents are mourning the death of Raymond "Ray" Ayers, 78, best known for capturing on canvas the rustic nature of Camarillo. Ayers, who died of a heart attack on May 4, is known by many as the local artist who for years sold his watercolor paintings of old buildings and pastoral landscapes under a shade tree at the farmers market.

ACHS grad serves country
      OVERSEAS- Army Pvt. First Class Ronald L. Reinhart Jr., shown in Baghdad, is expected to return home to Camarillo next month. Reinhart has been in Iraq since November 2007, according to his fiancée and fellow Adolfo Camarillo High School graduate, Kianna Vukovich. The couple, both Camarillo residents, is expected to wed upon Reinhart's return.
