Memorial Day trash schedule
      In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, the employees of E.J. Harrison and Sons will be taking the day off Mon., May 26. As a result, Camarillo residential customers will have their trash and recyclables or green waste collected one day later than usual during the week of May 26 to 31.

Upland and Las Posas roads to be repaved
      Upland and Las Posas roads will receive major facelifts, courtesy of funding from California's Proposition 1B. Camarillo will submit plans to the state in order to obtain its $1 million share from the Prop. 1B Grant Fund, passed in November 2007. The proposition provides cities and counties with $19.

      The May 29 and 30 editions of the Acorn Newspapers will have early deadlines because of Memorial Day on Mon., May 26. Editorial items, including letters to the editor for the May 29 and 30 editions, must be received by 11 a.m. Thurs., May 22, the same deadline for real estate advertising.

      Weaver Wines will present a fundraiser to benefit Women's Economic Ventures beginning at 6:30 p.m. Fri., May 30. The fundraiser will include a preparty at 6:30 p.m., a screening of the film "Sex and the City" at 9 p.m. and an afterparty following the movie.
