Make plans for wine fest
      The Casa Pacifica Angels Wine and Food Festival will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sun., June 1 on the campus of California State University Channel Islands. The event will include samples from 150 wineries, 75 restaurants and 25 microbreweries.

Kinetic sculpture on display
      Buenaventura Art Association artist Christine Beirne created and donated a kinetic sculpture for the Ventura Harbor Village titled "Seeking Peace." The piece is mounted between two palm trees in the planter between the Harbor Village Gallery and Hi-Cees restaurant.

      Fans came from as far away as Lodi, Calif., to greet Monkees lead singer Micky Dolenz on May 1 at Conejo Valley Days in Thousand Oaks. Audience members began arriving at 5 p.m. to stake out front row seats for the 8 p.m. show.
