ACHS softball team ranked sixth in Division I preseason poll
      It was May 31 of last year when jealousy started to kick in. While the Camarillo High baseball team competed for the CIF-Southern Section Division II championship at Dodger Stadium, the school's softball team watched from the stands.

USA Softball star says hello
      ROLE MODEL- Jessica Mendoza, a Camarillo High graduate and member of the USA Softball team that'll compete in the Summer Olympics in Beijing, took part in Wednesday night's opening ceremonies for the Camarillo Girls Softball Association. The well-attended event was held at Mission Oaks Park.

Area's finest grapplers off to state meet
      This weekend in Bakersfield several of the area's top wrestlers will be competing in the CIF State Championships. Thousand Oaks, which finished second in the Marmonte League's regular-season standings, will be represented by seniors Behrod Katebian (137 pounds) and Dillon Brockert (217).
