Slow-growth advocate

How disappointing to read that our Camarillo City Council is looking forward to the addition of a conference center, a hotel, a large bookstore, restaurants and a "big box" store to our once small town.

Don't I remember voting for some of these same council members in past decades who, at that time, were promising "slow growth" for Camarillo?

I doubt that most of the people who live here came because they really wanted to live in places like the San Fernando Valley or Los Angeles.

I'd like to see an end to the building boom and a firm commitment by each of our City Council members not just to "slow growth" but to "no growth": If they can't make that commitment, I, for one, will be voting to remove them from office next time around. Ron Lutey Camarillo
