Peeping Tom hid in park restroom, pretended to be a woman

Two young girls reported to Camarillo police seeing a man peering into stalls in the women's restroom at Pleasant Valley Park on Dec. 6.

According to police, at about 2:16 p.m. a 12year-old girl saw a man standing on a toilet looking into a stall occupied by the girl's 13-year-old sister in the restroom at 1500 Temple Ave.

The man jumped off the toilet, closed and locked the stall door and began talking in a fake female voice. Both girls immediately left the restroom and met with a 14-year-old girl waiting outside.

The man followed the three girls for about five minutes before doubling back to the park, police said.

The man is described as either Hispanic or Caucasian, in his 40s, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with a thin to medium build. He was wearing a white shirt, tan vest and black boots.

Anyone with information about the suspect is encouraged to call Camarillo detectives at (805) 3885100. Ventura County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and criminal complaint against the person responsible for the crime. Callers may remain anonymous.
