Move out of depression

An experimental workshop to help people dealing with depression, anger and helplessness will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sat., Dec. 15 at the Camarillo Center for Spiritual Living, 340 Mobil Ave. in Camarillo.

"The workshop will be filled with the exploration of the underlying cause of depression and will use dancing, drumming, singing and other creative activities to move the soul from darkness to light," said newly appointed minister, the Rev. Grace Lovejoy.

The general public is invited. Registration is $95.

The Camarillo Center for Spiritual Living is an interdenominational church based on the teachings of the Science of Mind. Sunday services are at 10:30 a.m.

Art of Christmas

The Camarillo Community Church will present "Imagine Christmas" at 9 and 11 a.m. Sun., Dec. 23 and at 4 and 6 p.m. Mon., Dec. 24 at 1322 Las Posas Road, Camarillo.

The interactive production will feature three artists from Aerial Experience Productions in Valencia. The show also includes a blend of music, dance, multimedia, roving musicians and narrative.

"Imagine Christmas" tells the story of Christmas from the beginning of time to modern day.

'Scrooge' drama

The Camarillo United Methodist Church will hold Christmas Eve services at 5 and 7 p.m. Mon., Dec. 24 in the sanctuary at 291 Anacapa Drive, Camarillo.

Both services are free and open to the public.

The 5 p.m. family service will feature a youth drama based on the story of Scrooge, plus a traditional nativity scene and music by a youth combo.

The 7 p.m. traditional service will highlight the Chancel Choir, meditations by the Rev. Jim DeckerMahin and a candlelighting ceremony.
