Tours take visitors to Victorian era
Several different family activities to choose from, some free, others require nominal fee
NP Oxnard's annual holiday celebration continues through December.
The Victorian Christmas House tours will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat. and Sun., Dec. 8 and 9 at Heritage Square, 7th and A streets. Docents dressed in period costume will guide visitors on a walking tour through the 1800'sstyle houses. Skits, refreshments and displays are included. Reservations are available by calling (805) 483-7960.
Oxnard's Christmas Tree Lane runs on F and G streets between 5th and First streets from 6 to 10 p.m. Sun., Dec. 9 to Wed., Dec. 26.
The Holly Trolley is a 45minute caroling tour of the lights and decorations in downtown Oxnard, including the business district and Christmas Tree Lane with a stop at Heritage Square.
Admission is $10 or the donation of a new, unwrapped toy valued at $10. Proceeds will benefit the Gull Wings Children's Museum and Toys for Tots. Seating is limited; reservations are available at (805) 3852705. The tour departs hourly beginning at 6 p.m. from Centennial Plaza at 5th and B streets.
The Channel Islands Harbor 42nd annual Parade of Lights will begin at 7 p.m. Sat., Dec. 8. Daytime and evening activities will take place, including musical entertainment, snow play, horsedrawn carriages, and arts and crafts.
