Harrison Industries celebrates 75 years
Family owned trash company was founded in 1932
      Harrison Industries, which serves Camarillo as E.J. Harrison & Sons, is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. On Nov. 27, Harrison held a party at the Gold Coast Recycling and Transfer Station in Ventura.

Acorn offices to close early
      All Acorn offices- Agoura Hills, Thousand Oaks and Camarillo- will close at 1 p.m. Fri., Dec. 14 for a holiday celebration. The offices will reopen at their regular time, 9 a.m., on Mon., Dec. 17. Advertising and editorial deadllines will remain at 11 a.m. Fri., Dec. 14.

Jersey Mike's serves up donation
Money to be used for neonatal ICU
      During October, the Jersey Mike's stores in Ventura raised $15,013 that was donated to St. John's Healthcare Foundation to benefit St. John's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The funds will pay for another incubator for the neonatal intensive care unit.

      California Sleigh Rides will present holiday boat cruises in Ventura Harbor. Public cruises depart nightly in December from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and 8 to 9:30 p.m. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children and includes free hot chocolate and cookies.
