Field hockey team wins pool championship
CHAMPS- The Camarillo Cougars, a field hockey team composed of players under age 19 from throughout Ventura County, captured their pool championship at the 2007 National Hockey Festival last weekend in Indo, Calif. The Camarillo Cougars won four games and tied two, defeating teams from Ohio, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Their two ties were against teams from Maryland and Illinois. According to the USA Field Hockey's website, the tournament is the world's largest amateur field hockey event, attracting more than 3,500 athletes from across the U.S., Canada, Europe and the Caribbean.
