      Camarillo A vandal caused $3,000 in damage to a motorcycle parked in the 3400 block of Corby Avenue sometime between Nov. 14 and 20. A vandal used a marker to deface a sign at the Camarillo Apartments, 682 Lantana St., sometime between Nov. 17 and 18.

University's growth challenges police chief

      California State University Channel Islands is growing by leaps and bounds. The Camarillo campus projected 2,789 students for the fall 2007 semester, but enrollment numbers have already surpassed 3,500 and are expected to reach 5,400 in the next five years.
