St. John's hosts cancer fundraiser

St. John's Healthcare Foundation will present its second annual Brighten a Life fundraising event from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tues., Dec. 11 at St. John's Regional Medical Center, 1600 N. Rose Ave., Oxnard.

The event will feature a tree-lighting ceremony, entertainment and refreshments.

Lights or ornaments can be purchases in the name of a friend or family member. Donations start at $25 for a light on the tree.

Dr. Timothy O'Connor, oncologist, will be honored at the ceremony.

Proceeds will fund cancer education and treatment programs offered through St. John's Cancer Center of Ventura County.
