Teachers go the distance

FOUR FOR THE ROAD- Four educators from Las Colinas Middle School took part in the 2007 Long Beach Marathon in early October. Teacher Ron Spiker, left, finished his first marathon in 4 hours and 29 minutes. Teachers Kathy Broder and Melanie McCook ran the half-marathon. Broder crossed the finish line in 1 hour and 31 minutes, while McCook posted a time of 2 hours and 26 minutes. Assistant Principal Joe Herzog completed the 26.2 mile course in 3 hours and 50 minutes, making it his 16th completed marathon.
