Parents need to help protect children from online predators
      The Camarillo Police Department presented a community forum for parents, "Cyber Safety: Keeping Your Kids Safe in a High Technology World," earlier this month at Las Colinas School. The seminar was geared toward teaching parents about the dangers teens face when surfing the Internet.

Volunteers needed to work with large dogs
      The Hogan Family Foundation, which has operated the Lifeline 4 Paws program for small breed dog rescues for several years, has begun its Big Paws 4 A Cause dog rescue program for larger dogs in Ventura County and is seeking volunteers.

Food drive to start
      FOOD Share Inc., Ventura County's Regional Food Bank, is conducting its annual food and fund drive now through Dec. 24 countywide. Organizers of the drive hope to collect 175,000 pounds of nutritious food and funds to feed the hungry in the community.
