County business group names Stenslie new president

Bruce Stenslie, deputy director of the California Workforce Association, is finalizing a contract with the EDCVC board of directors to become the new president/CEO of EDC-VC at the end of this month, pending contract approval.

Stenslie has been deputy director at CWA since 2004. Prior to that, he served two years as the executive director for the city of Los Angeles Workforce Investment Board.

Michele Pettes, president and CEO of the Economic Development Collaborative-Ventura County for the last four years, will become the new Ventura County public affairs manager for the Southern California Gas Co.

Stenslie has 18 years' experience in workforce and economic development and has previously served as the director of the Ventura County WIB and assistant director of the Ventura County Human Services Agency. The EDCVC is a private, nonprofit organization that serves as a businesstogovernment liaison to assist businesses in Ventura County by offering programs that enhance the economic vitality of the region.
